Styling Spring At Mine wire flower hanging wreath styling the seasons

Styling the Seasons April flower workshop with at{mine} styling the seasons april flower wreath

‘Styling the Seasons’ is a collaborative project founded by Katy (Apartment Apothecary) & Charlotte (Lotts & Lots). The idea behind it is to give a little refreshment & meaning to those spaces in our home that often tend to be left the same, and well, a little unloved other than perhaps a spot of something over the festive season.

Katy & Lottie have teamed up with at{mine} to hold, what is set to be, a wonderful floral wreath making workshop led by Caroline of Wild Rubus, at Homemade London on the 29th April. To celebrate the event launch and the arrival of spring, a handful of at{mine} bloggers (myself included – eeep!) were selected as judges, and sent a beautiful invite with flowers from Bloom&Wild to use in our own Styling the Seasons April stories. And, the MOST exciting bit is that you could be joining us at the workshop too…

All you have to do is to style a surface in your home to reflect what the month means to you. You can write a post about about it if you blog, or just share a picture on social media between 1st-15th April using #StylingSpringAtMine tagging Katy & Lottie (@aptapothecary & @lottsandlots/@tweetinglotts)

This month, I returned to one of my favourite spaces in our lounge & spent a happy morning flower faffing & making with the Bear…

I decided to use the flowers we were sent to give my rabbit vase (from Anthropologie) her seasonal makeover, added a little easter themed posie using an eggshell with the wooden bead trivet I made, (of course, it’s all about the eggs round here at the moment!) & I made my floral wreath using the most perfect wire hanger that I picked up especially from Workshop Living – my first attempt with flowers (I don’t count Christmas greenery) – let’s just say there was alot of holding my breath & I’m reaaaaally looking forward to being shown how to do it by a pro!

I’m off on abit of an adventure this month so I made myself a fun cardboard aeroplane using Elisabeth Dunker’s pattern (aka Fine Little Day) from the book Little Paper Planes (fantastic little book!)…Boo absolutely loved joining in this one & made her own brilliant version – we spent quite alot of time giggling under the table as she cut each scallop individually & then lost them! With my travelling time & it being the Easter holidays, I’m planning on some switching offline more & doing plenty of reading, hence the magazine hoarding bundle…

Styling the Seasons April Easter Holidays

Any month with school holidays tends to remind me of visits to my grandparents, & I’ve been thinking of them alot of late; reflecting on afternoons spent romping in the bluebell woods with my brother, or wandering the primrose & daffodil lined lanes, kicking off our mud smeared wellies, and curling up with a book & a Tizer (if we were lucky!) before tea. They were slow & happy days.
I bought three pairs of antlers when we moved into this house, & they still take me straight back to our first few days here, as we stood watching the deer in the fields, and enjoying the sun on our faces. Last summer, I popped a fallen peonie on one set which has dried and moulded itself beautifully around the horns, so I thought I’d give this set a spring crown to match…

So what does April mean to you? I can’t wait to see your styled shots & I’m so excited to discover who will be joining us at the workshop in just a few weeks!

There are 13 judges in total which means there will be 13 places available on the workshop. hop by & say hi to these lovelies & take a peek at their #StylingSpringAtMine stories at Littlegreenshed (Lou will also be talking about her gorgeous MayDay posie project at the event)  / Makelight / Lobster and Swan / A Quiet StyleGrowing Spaces / The Lovely DrawerCate St. Hill

And finally, if you haven’t come across it yet, at{mine} is a new platform for discovering and curating inspiring real homes & interiors, whilst sharing the story of your own style and connecting with an exciting community of homestyle loving folk (I wrote more here).  Hope to see you soon x

so, so beautiful, that wire hanger wreath is so pretty! Really like how fresh, light and airy your home is, and no such thing as magazine hoarding I say (my boyfriend hates the piles dotted around the flat, but you never know when you might want to go back to one!) xxx
