Styling The Seasons \\ November Wanderlust…

Abode - Everyday - Wanderlust

styling the seasons november surface november styling the seasons cosy up styling the seasons november #stylingtheseasons Ah, November…you start so well & full of magic. You’re also a hectic, damp & dark month. Which I had forgotten…

As the number of daylight hours diminish, almost in direct correlation to the mounting pile of things to be done, I’ve been taking some mindful moments wherever possible to do just a little something calm or creative just for me, and to think about what else November means to me.

And I realised this…Every November, I get wanderlust! A deep deep yearning for adventure, escape, & exploration… I’ve already decided that my 2015 word will be “explore”, and so I’ve been curling up (under my new favourite blanket) and creating an inspiration journal to add ideas & plans for places to visit, things to experience and regions to explore, and to keep me going in the meantime…I’m looking forward to the festive month of December, but feel so much calmed & cheered in these darker days with something to plan for past the coming happy but chaotic blend of merry & bright, feasts, friends & family, plays, parties, gatherings, gifts, and perhaps a little stress (because let’s be honest, some of this season’s whirligig & prep IS often peppered with a little tension!)

My little vignette for this month’s styling the seasons reflects these thoughts with my Ederle ‘adventure’ notebook, some images from my wild adventure pinterest board (printed for personal use only), our pretty pastel globe, the eucalyptus reminding me of recent london adventures, and the candles lit for warmth & light.

I hope you’ve had a good November. Are you ready for the festive season?

Don’t forget, you can join in with Katy & Charlotte and style the seasons too. Simply take a photo of your styled surface, blog it or just share on social media using #stylingtheseasons & tag Katy (@AptApothecary) & Charlotte (@lottsandlots/@tweetinglotts).

I love your globe and day couch – serious decor envy! I’m a big fan of the start of November when days are bright and crisp and skies are blue, but not so much the end of the month when it’s grey, drizzly and damp. x

Ahhh….this happens to me several times throughout the year! 😉 But you’re right, there is that yearning to go travelling exploring new things that sets in around this time of the year. Definitely a good way to keep the winter blues at bay.

On another note… really do have the most beautiful home. I can’t stop drooling over all the details and pieces you have. That Ercol bed in particular is my favourite! 😉 xx
