This week, I promised myself some *me* time, and I spent a merry day yesterday, starting a little make-over project I’ve had in mind (more on that soon, but hence the painty fingers!), and thinking about some winter decor. Inspired by my winter Pinterest board (this lovely in particular), I set about this easy peasy, but effective, way to add a little winter brightness to our home.
To re-create this, you will need…
// paint & brushes (I used crafters acrylic, but any paint would do as long as it sticks and is colourful. You could also use wall emulsion, chalk paint or even nail varnish!)
// pine or fir cones (foraged is nicer if you can find them, but you can buy them too)
// twig or stick (mine was picked up from Brighton beach at the weekend, so it has rather fond memories)
// twine (yarn, string or thread will work too…anything strong enough to tie the cones to the stick and to hang the stick up from, is grand)
Simply paint the tips, all or some, of the pine cones and then tie along the twig at alternate heights. Add a loop tied at both ends to the stick, and hang…voila! So easy and so loverly, soothing, fun, and quite addictive…I feel a matching merry & bright garland coming on!
Hope you’re having a sooper week so far…what do you like to do with a bit of time all for yourself?
