I spent a really happy day out with Melanie (Geoffrey & Grace) and her gorgeous family a couple of weekends ago…
We’re organising an Instameet for the 13th Worldwide Instagram event, which this year, is celebrating Earthday on the 22nd April, with Instameet’s planned across the globe between 22nd-24th April. Our’s in on Saturday the 23rd (I’ll pop all the deets at the end…)
Our original plan was to combine the meet with a beach clean, but after Mel’s extensive research & contacting local council etc. we found that Cuckmere Haven is already well covered with an event that weekend too.
So instead, we’re going to make nature’s inspiration our theme.
We had a very pleasant Saturday spent doing abit of a recce of the area, and making sure we knew where the parking would be, how suitable the walk down to the beach was, and how long we thought we should allow for everything…
I’d been feeling abit cooped up lately, especially with so much focus on the house interior, so it was fantastic to get out in the fresh air with such stunning views, & soak up abit of Vitamin Sea.
It also gave me the opportunity to test out new clobber from Joules, especially with Mel on hand to get the shots for me – so much easier, and more fun than my usual tripod/timer set up!
My old Joules Wellies had finally given up, so I chose the Woodhurst Lace Muck Boots instead, which are 100% more comfortable & cosy than my old wellies were. Absolutely in love with them – word of warning though, the quilted part is not waterproof (as tested by a surprisingly large wave catching me out!)
I also chose the Seaford Mac (#Ihavethisthingwithcoats!), which is the perfect coat for Springtime, when the wind remains chilly & showers can catch you out. I really like the little details & that the hood is detachable too. (Plus, it couldn’t have been more aptly named with Seaford being just down the road!)
I meant to shoot all this with a picnic, but we had a superb lunch in nearby Litlington at The Plough & Harrow, so I saved that part for a girl’s lunch with Boo & will share our favourite picnic trick soon…
So, onto the Instameet details! Although it’s something that comes through the Instagram community, it’s a great way to organise a creative gathering, and is open to anyone, so if you’re interested but not an IG user, please do feel free to join us…
We’ll be meeting at the Seven Sisters Country Car Park at Exceat (click for map) 10.30am – Saturday 23rd April.
All are welcome, including kids, and we really hope to see as many of you as possible.
You can find Mel over at Geoffrey & Grace, talking all things wholehearted & creative living, and you can keep in touch with us both on IG @GeoffreyandGrace \\ @LapinBlu
We look forward to meeting & catching up with you x
